ICP Group Introduces ORing, an Industrial Network Device Developer

Taipei, Taiwan, June 24, 2008 ¡V ICP Group today introduced ORing, the latest member of the ICP Group. ORing focuses on the design, development and manufacture of industrial Ethernet switches, industrial serial device servers and wireless industrial networking products.

ORing industrial networking devices are easily applied in automation plants, busy shopping malls, hospitals, airports and other environments that depend heavily on the integrity and reliability of secure computer networks. ORing's networking products emphasize network recovery time (switches), host-redundancy (industrial device servers) and accessibility (wireless products).

ORing's industrial Ethernet switches use fast £g-Ring network redundancy technology to protect networks from data transmission disruptions and prevent data loss. £g-Ring technology reduces network recovery time to less than one millisecond. The Open-Vision Pro Windows utility installed on the industrial Ethernet switches can also manage and monitor industrial Ethernet switches from other vendors.

ORing's industrial device servers can connect to as many as five redundant hosts. Host redundancy ensures the ORing industrial device servers can protect industrial networks from transmission disruptions when one or more hosts fail. The industrial device servers are easily configured with DS-Tool, a web-based Windows utility. DS-Tool simplifies the management and monitoring of all the industrial device servers in the industrial network.

ORing's Wireless access points (WAP) and access point (AP) routers are powered devices (PD) with at least two Ethernet ports. The second Ethernet port on the WAP and AP routers comply with the IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE) specifications. This feature extends the layout up to 100 meters. The AP router supports both traditional 56k modems and GPRS, 3G and 3.5G modems through a USB interface. A wireless LAN environment is therefore easily established through dialing up cellular modems.
